Parish Groups / Ministry > Knights of Columbus

Mission

To call together a fraternal group of the Catholic faith, to organize and to motivate them so that they shall always be in readiness to serve our Church, our Families and to serve in our Faith Community, based on the Knights of Columbus’s principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. We, the Knights of Columbus of Council 11916, affiliated with the Canadian Martyrs’ Parish, belong to a world-wide organization founded in U.S. by Father Michael J. McGivney in 1882. Father Michael McGivney’s original idea was to rally the men to help the impoverished families in his parish.
Now, there are more than 2 million members in over 16,000 councils world-wide, each council serving its own parish, but also jointly we come together to share many visions, chart worth-while courses and stage many charitable function and activities.

Membership

We invite all men of the Catholic faith in our parish, who are over 18 years of age, to join us.
Our council has grown since founded in the year 1997 to be more than 100 strong. We need more men to serve the needs of our Church, community and families.
